Essential oil remedy to help prep for exercise
Perhaps you’ve decided it’s time to get yourself back to the gym, or like my husband, have an Iron man triathlon to prepare for. Whether you’re a beginner or an athletic God this pre-exercise formula is especially helpful to get you feeling motivated and will prepare your body for battle. It's great for the lungs and respiratory system, it will help to prevent strains and muscular issues.
You will need; Eucalyptus essential oil 10 drops, Rosemary essential oil 10 drops, Thyme essential oil 10 drops
Simply dilute with 30ml vegetable oil and rub the formula all over your feet, ankles, calves, thighs, lower body, and arms.
Thyme essential oil actually helps to prevent strains, whilst Rosemary alleviates muscle aches and pains. Eucalyptus is a great anti-inflammatory which relieves strains and reduces tenderness.
Essential oil remedy to ease muscle soreness
Taking a shower post work-out is one of my favourite things to do, it makes you feel great but it also eliminates the lactic acid that causes muscle ache.
Using just soap and water does not provide the deep cleaning your body requires. If you have more time, adding this essential oil remedy to your shower will help eliminate waste products from the body, actually preventing sore and aching muscles.
You will need; Rosemary essential oil 1 drop, Lemon essential oil 1 drop, Eucalyptus essential oil 1 drop and Peppermint essential oil 1 drop
Before you hop in the shower prepare a clean flannel with a drop of each essential oil, rub it all over yourself then shower as normal.
How to relax and heal naturally after exercise
One of the best ways you can support your muscles after sports or physical activity is to give it the rest it needs. Over exercised muscles can be super painful as the muscles can struggle to contract causing you to tremble. After a long workout or a strenuous day of hiking a hot bath is so beneficial to keep your muscles supple and heal your body after over exertion.
I love to take a long soak in the bath using our Bath soak, a melody of ancient healing salts - Magnesium, Epsom and Himalayan, enriched with 84 minerals. Our salts are specifically designed to detox, relax and unwind your body. Magnesium has been my prized discovery to help with relief and healing. It has been proven to release and relieve muscle cramps, is a great muscle relaxant, controls muscle contractions and regulates blood pressure making it a vital remedy for after sport or strenuous physical activity.
I would love to hear how you get on with these remedies, if you have anything that works for you pre or post exercise please do let me know.
