There’s something wonderfully unfussy about deciding the most productive thing you’ll do all evening… is lie in warm water. Water therapy sounds grand, but really it’s just a bath done properly. Humans have relied on it for centuries because it works. Simple as that.
Here’s my step by step guide to the perfect long weekend detox bath:
Run the bath.
Warm water, not boiling. We’re restoring ourselves, not poaching. The heat melts away tired muscles and softens skin that’s been through… quite enough.
Add bubbles. Lots of them.
This is not the moment for restraint. Pile them high, sink beneath them, and allow the outside world to carry on without you for a while.
Light a candle.
Non negotiable. I’m currently obsessed with Columbia Road. It smells like fresh air, armfuls of flowers, and wandering slowly with nowhere urgent to be.
Add your soak.
Sprinkle generously. Deepest Sleep is my long weekend hero, infused with essential oils that make your nervous system sigh with relief. It’s like telling your body, you can stand down now.
Lie back and breathe.
Three deep breaths. Inhale calm. Exhale the week. Ignore the laundry pile giving you side eye from the hallway.
Optional magic.
A dash of bath oil for skin so soft it feels faintly indecent. When you’re done, I always finish with a spritz of Magnesium Mist, the encore your body didn’t know it needed.
Post bath ritual
Once you’ve soaked for at least 20 minutes, long enough to reap the detoxifying, muscle melting benefits, rinse off with clean water to remove any residue. Then seal everything in with our Everyday Hair and Body Oil. Nourishing, gentle, and perfect for the whole family.
The result?
Calm nerves. Soft skin. And the quiet smugness of someone who chose restoration over rushing about. No plans required. Just you, a bath full of bubbles, and the rather excellent decision to spend your long weekend horizontal.
