Peppermint Essential Oil is incredibly effective for treating a variety of minor ailments. I always keep this versatile oil on hand.
Here are some of my favorite aromatherapy recipes using peppermint essential oil:
- Constipation Relief: Massage a blend of essential oils in a clockwise direction over the lower abdomen three times. Mix 15 drops of Rosemary, 10 drops of Lemon, and 5 drops of Peppermint into 30ml of Vegetable Oil. If symptoms persist, consult a healthcare professional.
- Diarrhea Treatment: For food-related diarrhea, massage a tincture of essential oils over the entire abdomen. Combine 2 drops of Chamomile, 3 drops of Peppermint, and 1 drop of Eucalyptus with 5ml of Vegetable Oil. Additionally, mix 1 drop of Peppermint with a teaspoon (5ml) of Honey and dilute in 250ml of warm water. Sip slowly.
- Peppermint Oil for Ants: Ants are notorious for avoiding minty scents! To deter ants from entering your home, place 1 or 2 drops of peppermint oil at their entry points. For a more direct approach, apply 2 drops of pure peppermint oil directly onto an ant nest to encourage a mass exodus – or simply spray our mint-based Ant Repellent wherever you spot their trails for an easy and effective solution.
Peppermint oil is also effective at repelling other pests, including rats and mice.
