Natural Baby Laundry Detergent

1 litre
Price: £14.50
(free UK delivery)

Our natural baby laundry detergent - is designed with little ones in mind.  Using only the botanically sourced ingredients, highly concentrated, it is engineered to cleanse and protect your little ones clothes for upto 70 washes.  Infused with a sleepy lavender fragrance, it's designed to calm and relax your little one.  With top notes or Rosemary, middle notes of Jasmin and Lavender, it is balanced with the relaxing Cedarwood and Patchouli essential oils.

Use our natural baby clothing detergent for your baby's everyday wash. It will brighten whites and preserve colours. For an extra bit of umph though I would suggest adding a spoonful of our bleach alternative - it's great for getting rompers white again (especially if they've had a little explosion).

We make our Baby Laundry detergent by hand in small batches in Norfolk, so our ingredients are super fresh and effective.  We don't use harsh chemicals found in a lot of laundry detergents - bleach or other toxic ingredients.

Highly concentrated - up to 70 washes.

Bella's Tips

Bella Middleton founded Norfolk Natural Living. She lives in the Norfolk countryside with her husband, Hugo and their three young children. Bella's tips come from a combination of a passion for nature and the wisdom passed to her by her mum, Felicity.

It is important to follow the care instructions on your garments. Particularly the more delicate ones. I would hate for you to ignore those and ruin one of your favourite pieces.

When we developed this Natural Baby Laundry Detergent, I wanted to ensure it would work at a relatively low temperature. This is important for a few reasons, to save energy, to help remove stains and prevent colour loss.  Little baby clothes end up covered in a lot different marks - from pens, to food and the inevitable nappy explosion.  Therefore stain removal is a key!

I often get asked, do you need hot water to remove stains? In short, not you don't.  In fact when dealing with stains washing an item above 70 F or 21 C can actually 'cook' the stain into your clothes. Best bet, is to either pre-soak the stain with our scented vinegar - it removes most stains, then pop it into the washing machine or mix half a cap full of our natural bleach alternative with a little water, and work it into the stain before putting in the machine.

You need to wash clothes on a hot temperature to sanitize it - as above 104 F or 40 C the heat will kill the bacteria and virus's etc.  To clean clothes, you can use a cold wash to remove dirt and stains - but not to remove bacteria or viruses.  So using hot water for a general wash is an unnecessary use of energy and it can also damage your garments especially as it generally fades colours and missshapes the fibres.

Depending on the age of your children it depends on how often their clothes need to be washed. I have found with my older (5 year old) that I can spritz a little garment refresher on his clothes between washes, the natural anti-bacterial properties of witch-hazel refreshes his clothes and he can wear them for twice as long (meaning I can halve the number of times I wash his clothes!) Not only does this help them to last longer, it also reduces the number of micro-fibres being washed into the waterways.

By using this natural detergent, you are helping to dramatically reduce the harmful chemicals that washing machines flush into our waterways with each use.

We use completely recyclable materials in our packaging. That includes the bottles and jars that our products are housed in. Please take care to wash them out and re-use/recycle them after use.
