How to use Everyday Hair & Body Oil

There’s something wonderfully steadying about the small, ordinary business of looking after yourself. Our Everyday Hair and Body Oil is exactly that sort of thing: unfussy, quietly luxurious, and the sort of product you end up using every day without really meaning to.

Which is also why it never hangs around on the shelf for long – people buy it “just to try on their hair” and then realise it also sorts out their shins, their cuticles, their kids’ dry patches and the weird flaky bit by their nose. Suddenly the bottle is mysteriously half empty and they’re back for more.

Here’s how to get the most out of it.

1. Deep Nourishment for Hair (That You’ll Actually Do)

For everyday polish, think tiny:

  • Fine hair: 1–2 drops

  • Thicker/curly hair: 3–4 drops

Rub between your palms, then scrunch into the ends and any frizzy bits. It adds shine, tames the “I’ve been outside in British weather” halo, and helps protect against dryness.

For a weekly treatment:

  • Work 6–10 drops through your hair, focusing on mid-lengths and ends.

  • Twist into a loose bun or wrap in a towel.

  • Sleep on it and wash out in the morning.

Bonus: it makes hair feel soft and swishy, not greasy and sad.

2. Silky Soft Skin (Especially If You Can’t Be Bothered With 3 Different Lotions)

The most useful way to use it on your body is straight after a bath or shower, while your skin is still damp. That’s the trick.

  • Pat yourself so you’re not dripping, but don’t get too enthusiastic with the towel.

  • Apply a few pumps of oil to arms, legs and anywhere that feels tight or dry.

  • It locks in moisture and gives you that healthy, not-sparkly glow.

The blend of Sweet Almond, Macadamia Seed and Hazel Seed oils is naturally rich in vitamins A and E, which help soften and soothe dry, cranky skin and keep things feeling balanced instead of coated.

3. Gentle Makeup Remover

If your face feels tight after cleansing, try this instead in the evening:

  1. Massage a small pump of oil onto dry skin – including over makeup and SPF.

  2. Take your time around the eyes; it melts mascara and eyeliner without stinging.

  3. Remove with a warm, damp cloth.

  4. If you like a double cleanse, follow with a gentle cream or gel cleanser.

You end up with clean, comfortable skin that still feels like skin – not like it’s two sizes too small.

4. Nourishing Nail and Cuticle Treatment (Desk Job Essential)

Keep the bottle near your desk or by the sofa:

  • Massage a drop into each nail and cuticle when you’re answering emails or watching TV.

  • The vitamin-rich oils help prevent dryness and brittleness (especially if you’re fond of hot water, handwashing or gel manicures).

  • It makes manicures look fresher for longer and bare nails look less “I’ve been ignoring these for months”.

5. Soothing Massage Oil (DIY Spa Without Leaving the House)

Use it warm – that’s the secret to making it feel spa-ish rather than “I’ve put coconut oil on my shoulders”.

  • Pour a small amount into your palms and rub them together to warm it.

  • Use for a quick shoulder, neck or foot massage at the end of the day.

  • It has enough slip to glide nicely, but sinks in well so you’re not left sticking to the sheets.

6. Family-Friendly Care (The Bottle Everyone “Just Borrows”)

Because it’s gentle and formulated for all skin types, it ends up becoming the household bottle:

  • A little on dry patches on little legs and arms.

  • On winter cheeks that have seen too much wind and not enough scarf.

  • As a calming bedtime ritual – a quick foot or back massage, soft pyjamas, job done.

Always patch-test on very sensitive skin (behind the knee or inside wrist) and keep out of little hands’ reach, obviously – but otherwise, it’s very much a “one bottle, many people” situation.

Why It Never Lasts Long on the Shelf

In short: people actually use it.

  • It replaces several things at once – hair serum, body lotion, cuticle oil, makeup remover, massage oil – so it doesn’t sit there looking pretty and gathering dust.

  • It’s the opposite of a faff: no fancy routine, no 12-step regime, just a good oil that works hard in lots of ways.

  • Once it’s in the bathroom, it tends to migrate – to the bedside table, to the handbag, to the kids’ room and that’s when you realise how quickly a “just for my hair” oil turns into “we’ve all adopted this now”.

Bring a little Norfolk Natural Living into your routine and you’ll see why this bottle has a habit of selling out: it’s simple, useful, and quietly makes everything feel a bit more looked after – including you.
