For more than a decade, this comforting debloat tea has been my winter essential. I drink it most evenings once the weather turns cold, and during the first week of the season I enjoy it twice a day for an extra-soothing reset. It’s warm, calming, and incredibly supportive for digestion — and it’s one of my favourite things to serve to friends and family when they stay over.
Why It Works
Lemon – Helps reduce bloating and gently stimulates digestion.
Cinnamon – A warming spice that calms inflammation and supports gut comfort.
Hot Water – Relaxes the digestive tract and encourages natural movement.
Peppermint Essential Oil – Known for easing bloating, gas, and digestive tension.
Debloat Tea Recipe
The magic Formula:
• a handful of sliced lemon
• 1 tbsp cinnamon
• Raw honey to cover
• Peppermint essential oil (has to be food grade or switch for fresh mint) helps with digestion
Method
-
Layer the lemon slices in a glass jar.
-
Sprinkle the cinnamon over the fruit.
-
Pour in enough raw honey to fully cover everything.
-
Pop in the fresh mint or 2 drops of peppermint essential oil
-
Stir gently to combine, then let the mixture sit in the fridge for at least 1 hour before using.
-
Now add a couple of slices to your cup, cover with boiling water, let it brew for a minute or two…
-
Light a candle and enjoy!
(This will store the mixture in the fridge for up to 5 days.)
