I love using these beautiful Crushed Oyster Shells as a natural pot dressing - they add a touch of elegance while improving soil structure and drainage. If slugs and snails are a problem, sprinkling these shells around the base of your plants creates a natural barrier - they simply won’t cross the sharp, uneven texture.
Rich in micronutrients, these shells give roots the space they need to thrive. Sourced sustainably and rescued from landfill, they are a natural, beautiful by-product of food waste, carefully crushed, washed and dried in our Norfolk workshop.

- Will this help with fungus gnats?
- Dear Hannah, Yes our Shell Plant topping is a fantastic natural way to repel fungus gnats. If you have an infestation of house fungus gnats, I would advise removing the top (2cm) layer of soil from your pots (that's where the fungus gnats like lay their eggs) then add 1 cm of the Shell topping. It not only looks pretty and will add trace nutrients to your soil - it will help to prevent the fungus gnats from laying their eggs.
