How To Care & Protect Your Garden Tools:

With Winter coming to an end and Spring just around the corner, I'm starting to think about getting my garden prepped for the new season. Therefore, getting all of my garden tools prepared for work. In this blog, I go through my top tips on how I care & maintain my garden tools throughout the year.

Why is it important to clean garden tools?

Quality tools are designed to last many years, but they must be cared for and regularly maintained. Maintaining garden tools and equipment is essential to their longevity and making sure they last you for many years to come. 

But tool maintenance doesn’t have to be total drudgery. If you take a few minutes after every use (even every couple of uses) to care for your tools, you’ll save yourself hours of elbow grease at the end of the season.

Where should garden tools be stored?

When it comes to the best place to store your gardening power tools, some spots are better than others. Anywhere that is dry, warm and protected from the elements will always be a better option than leaving them outdoors or in a damp environment.

Also make sure to hang your tools rather than standing them. This will also help with moisture prevention. The garden shed is the best option, kept up high & outside in the rain is definitely somewhere you want to avoid. In the past, I’ve been guilty of leaving my tools outside in the rain- therefore paying the price of rust.

How to prevent rust on garden tools?

Ensuring you have the right tools to help protect and care for your tools is important.
