How to remove dog urine from a carpet naturally

How to remove dog urine from a carpet naturally

Last week, I had a call from a customer who needed desperate help after her new puppy had an accident on the carpet in the Air-BnB she was staying in. Luckily, I had a few tips up my sleeve which did the trick!

Accidents happen, especially if you're a pet owner. Dealing with dog pee stains on carpets can be frustrating, but resorting to harsh chemicals is not only harmful to the environment but also poses risks to your beloved pets and family members. Thankfully, there are natural and eco-friendly solutions to tackle this common problem. In this blog, I will explore effective methods to remove dog pee from carpets using the most natural ingredients.

Act as fast as possible:

The key to effectively removing dog pee from carpets is to act quickly. As soon as you notice the accident, grab some paper towels or a clean cloth and gently blot the area to absorb as much of the urine as possible. Avoid rubbing, as it may spread the stain and make it harder to clean.

How to Remove Dog Urine Stains:

Bicarbonate of soda is a fantastic natural deodoriser and stain remover, and when combined with vinegar, it creates a powerful cleaning solution. Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over the affected area, then pour the white vinegar over it. Let the solution sit for a few minutes until it stops bubbling. Then, use a cloth to blot the area, absorbing the excess liquid and lifting the stain.

Alternatively, to deep clean - apply our Stain Solution and scrub with a toothbrush and warm water. Allow to dry completely (if its a piece of clothing wash as you would normally in the washing machine using our Natural Laundry Detergent.

What kills the smell of dog urine?

Because vinegar is acidic, it will neutralise the bacteria in the dog pee, offsetting its odour. Apply our Scented Vinegar liberally over the stain - leave to work for 20 minutes then blot away - continue as necessary until it has disappeared.

How do I stop my house from smelling like dog?

Pet Bed Refresher

As much as we love our canine companions, there's no denying that these stains can often leave behind unwanted odours in our homes.

For a pet-safe and eco-friendly solution to tackle stubborn doggy odours our Pet Bed Refresher is made from natural ingredients and is specially formulated to neutralise pet odours and leave a pleasant scent behind. Simply mist the refresher on your pet's bedding, blankets, and other areas that have been affected, and let its powerful deodorising properties work their magic.

So, next time your furry friend has a little accident, remember the power of natural cleaning solutions. For more stain removing tips - please do drop me an email and I shall send you our new stain removal guide :)  If you have any questions please do let me know and I will do my best to help.
